What is Human-in-the-Loop?
Human-in-the-loop (HITL) refers to AI systems designed with explicit points where humans review, approve, modify, or override AI decisions before they're executed. It's the middle ground between fully manual work and fully autonomous AI.
The "loop" in HITL represents the continuous cycle:
- AI proposes an action or decision
- Human reviews and approves, modifies, or rejects
- System executes (or not, based on human decision)
- AI learns from human feedback (optional)
