About Amelia Lerutte

Amelia Lerutte (also spelled LeRutte) is the Chief AI Officer of SaaStr, the B2B software community and events company founded by Jason Lemkin. She previously led marketing at SaaStr and moved from social media and event management into running the company's AI program. She co-hosts SaaStr's weekly podcast The Agents with Lemkin, which reports on running a company with three humans and more than 20 AI agents.

She is best known for building 10K, SaaStr's in-house AI agent, which began as a dashboard to replace a weekly copy-paste reporting chore and grew into what SaaStr calls its AI VP of marketing, later AI VP of revenue. She works with 10K for hours a day across outbound, inbound, campaign planning, pricing and collections. At SaaStr AI Annual 2026 she built a new version of the agent live on stage. Alongside 10K, she manages SaaStr's third-party agents, including Artisan, Qualified, Agentforce and Monaco, and QB, its customer success agent.

Her value as a source is operational detail: she reports what each agent actually did, where it failed and what the numbers were, rather than vendor claims.

Notable Positions

On Agent Pricing

As legacy vendors started charging more for agent access, Lerutte had 10K install an API call tracker for a week; it found many calls could be cut to a bare minimum. She described SaaStr's position, with 21 agents on legacy vendors and close work with AI-native CRMs, as a vantage point where "no one has figured this out." See agent pricing.

On Data About AI Buyers

Using ZoomInfo, Sumble and Clay to enrich 22,000+ paid ticket holders, she had 10K find that AI-native titles became about four times more common in one year, half of the executives changed jobs within 16 months and more than 75% of AI-native attendees were new to SaaStr. Her conclusion: outbound lists and ICPs need constant refreshing.

On Agentic Collections

10K sends each invoice within 10 to 30 minutes of a deal closing, copies a finance contact it finds through enrichment, follows up weekly and asks her to escalate when needed. Late payments fell from 56% to 8%, and average days overdue from 17 to 6.

On AI SDR Follow-Ups

Third-party AI SDR tools are good at opening a conversation but weak on follow-up, she says, because they can't use enough first-party context. She built an in-house "Prospector" queue that combines call notes, website activity, past attendance and pricing to draft follow-ups.

Key Quotes

  • "Consistency beats brilliance." (on AI SDR messaging)
  • "I actually only care now if they say something bad or if they need an escalation." (on reading AI SDR conversations)
